Lov Lov Coffee is an Authorized SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) Course and Examination Centre.
The Coffee Skills Program was established by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). It consists of an Introduction to Coffee and 5 specialist modules: Barista Skills, Brewing, Green Coffee, Roasting, and Sensory Skills. Each specialist module is divided into three levels: Foundation, Intermediate, and Professional, offering a total of 16 progressive courses from beginner to advanced levels. Learners who successfully complete the course and pass the examination will be awarded the official "SCA Coffee Skills Program Certificate."
Starting January 1, 2024, the SCA introduced 4 specialized diplomas: the SCA Café Diploma, SCA Roastery Diploma, SCA Coffee Trade Diploma, and SCA Sustainable Coffee Diploma. Each diploma requires a specific combination of Foundation, Intermediate, or Professional level certificates across various modules. The Barista Skills Intermediate course builds upon the concepts and skills introduced in the Foundation course. It is ideal for those who have barista experience and wish to explore how to improve coffee quality and prepare for more complex job functions in the professional barista field. Through this interactive course, learners will gain a deeper understanding of coffee, focusing on how varieties, origins, and processing methods impact flavor. It covers designing parameters and their interactions (such as brew ratio, grind texture, water quality, and extraction time) when dialing in an espresso recipe, drink construction, taste differences, workflow management, efficiency, and the sensory aspects of espresso extraction. It also delves into advanced milk texturing and latte art. Beyond coffee preparation, the course covers key concepts regarding health and safety, customer service, and basic business practices.

It looks at the essential elements of brewing and their impact on the final cup, the scientific methods of measuring coffee strength and extraction charting, and the analysis of brewed coffee to make necessary adjustments for a delicious, well-balanced cup. The importance of cleanliness and maintenance is also strongly emphasized.

Under normal circumstances, the deadline for registration is 7 days prior to the course commencement date.
Once registration is confirmed, requests to change courses or cancel will not be accepted. All fees paid are non-refundable, and course slots are non-transferable.
If a student is absent from a class, it will be treated as a voluntary forfeiture. Paid tuition fees will not be refunded, and no make-up classes or course transfers will be arranged.
Enrolment is processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Places are limited and registration will close once full.
If a course needs to be canceled due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances, our centre will notify students via email or telephone at least 5 days prior to the class. Students can choose to enroll in an alternative equivalent course or opt for a full refund.
Students who fail the examination are entitled to one free re-sit. Any subsequent re-sits will be charged at $880 per person per attempt.
In the event of any dispute, Lov Lov Coffee Co., Ltd. reserves the right to make the final decision.
